In celebration of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, this MAI ki Wairaka wānanga session was held in Te Reo Māori, and facilitated by Eruera Lee-Morgan (Senior advisor – Te Puni Kōkiri). This session’s guest speaker is Dr. Jen Martin (Te Rarawa) discussing Te Reo Māori and research, reflecting on her journey writing and researching i Te Reo Māori.
Dr. Jen Martin (Te Rarawa) is the Director of Pae Tū Ltd., and a lecturer at the University of Auckland in Māori studies, with a background in Te Reo Māori and Māori immersion education. Jen has an experienced background in teaching Te Reo Māori, of which she is very passionate about. Her research interests include: Māori language revitalization and development, academic writing in Te Reo Māori, and Māori achievement through education.
